According to reports from the Mirror, Liverpool will not pursue Monaco’s highly-rated defender, Benjamin Mendy, in the summer transfer window.
Instead, Liverpool could make a move for Celtic’s highly talented young defender, Kieran Tierney.
Left-back is one area where Jurgen Klopp is looking to add quality players in the summer.
James Miner, primarily a midfielder, has been used last season in the left-back role. Although he did well, the England midfielder cannot be a long term solution for the Reds.
Alberto Moreno has been frustrating to say the least, and the Spaniard could be sold this summer.
As per reports from Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have shown an interest in Mendy, who would cost around £40 million. However, it seems the Reds have pulled out of the race.

Tierney would be a great addition to the Liverpool squad. He would walk straight into the first team, and would add quality and depth to the side.
Additionally, he would represent a cheaper alternative than Mendy, and would cost around £17million, according to Daily Mail.
Tierney has the potential to be a world beater in the future, and Liverpool should prioritise his signing this summer.
