Everton are chasing both Axel Witsel and Morgan Schneiderlin, but Liverpool are also interested in the former.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Everton are interested in signing both Axel Witsel and Morgan Schneiderlin this summer.
Ronald Koeman has been handed over £100 million to spend at Goodison Park, and he wants to invest it in improving his new side’s midfield options.

Koeman has identified both Witsel and Schneiderlin as two targets who could improve the Toffees’ squad, but Liverpool are also interested in Witsel.
The Belgium international is expected to leave Zenit St. Petersburg in the coming months, with Everton and Liverpool both keen to sign the powerful midfielder.
However, the Reds believe that their Merseyside rival’s pursuit of Schneiderlin could aid them.

Liverpool feel that if Schneiderlin does sign for Everton, they would stand a better chance of completing a move for Witsel – as they could offer him first-team football.
Schneiderlin is said to be keen on a move to Everton, after he failed to make much of an impact during his first season at Manchester United.
