Liverpool are leading the race for Rodrigo De Paul amid reported interest from Leeds United, according to TuttoUdinese.
It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Liverpool and Barcelona are leading the race for De Paul, and that they could have to pay almost €50 million (£42.87 million) as transfer fee for the Argentina international.
This will come as a blow to Leeds, who are also reported to be on the hunt for the 26-year-old, described as someone who has “extraordinary technique” and who “knows the game of football” by former Udinese head coach Julio Velazquez in Tuttomercatoweb, as covered by HITC Sport.
The Sun reported in January that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa wanted to sign his Argentine compatriot last summer and remain interested in him as a possible target in the summer of 2021 as well.
TuttoUdinese reported in February that Liverpool are interested in De Paul, who can also play as a winger, and now the Reds are seemingly lead the race along with Barcelona.
Udinese exit an inevitability
According to WhoScored, De Paul has scored six goals and provided five assists in 27 Serie A games for Udinese so far this season.
With Udinese likely to end up in mid-table in Serie A this season, it is hard to see the Italian club keep hold of the Argentine beyond the summer.
