Liverpool are ‘in contact’ with Tottenham Hotspur about a deal for the goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga, according to The Independent.
It is claimed that Liverpool have acted amid fears they could be without their first-choice option, Alisson Becker, for more than six weeks.
Alisson’s absence led to a rare chance to impress for Adrian San Miguel against Aston Villa on Sunday, but the Reds were beaten 7-2 with the Spaniard among those who struggled the most at Villa Park.
Gazzaniga, meanwhile, has yet to make a single one of Tottenham’s matchday squads this season, despite impressing as a stand-in to Hugo Lloris for a large part of last season.
And it was reported earlier this summer, after Joe Hart’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, that Spurs would listen to offers for the Argentine (Evening Standard).
Fulham, whose manager Scott Parker is a former Tottenham coach, were one of the clubs claimed to be keen on Gazzaniga.
But the Cottagers have since signed Alphonse Areola on loan from Paris Saint-Germain are are unlikely, it seems to rival any Liverpool bid for the 28-year-old.

Even if they did, it is hard to imagine Gazzaniga not being attracted by the prospect of being Liverpool’s number one, if only in the short term.
