According to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter Milan have a ‘clear advantage’ in the race to sign Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla ahead of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s claimed that Napoli want Kumbulla, but are trailing Inter in the race. Manchester United are keen too, whilst it’s stated that Liverpool and Tottenham have ‘recently joined’ the race.

Right now, Inter look to be his most likely destination. Napoli were leading the race earlier this year, but it’s Antonio Conte’s men pushing now.

Conte already has the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Diego Godin, but Kumbulla could be a star of the future.

The 20-year-old has emerged in the Verona ranks, and has really emerged as a top talent under Ivan Juric in an impressive campaign.

A talented young centre back, Kumbulla already has one cap for Albania. He had qualified to play for Italy having been born there, but chose to represent his parent’s nation.

Kumbulla is still a relative rookie, but has been compared to Giorgio Chiellini in a huge form of praise. It’s therefore no wonder Liverpool and Spurs are in the race.

Given the global pandemic, Tottenham may not be in a position to spend big this summer, making a move for Kumbulla seem unlikely.

Liverpool will likely dial back their spending too, but seem more likely than Spurs. For now, both sides are trailing Inter, and may end up missing out.
