According to Roma Live, Liverpool and Tottenham have made contact with Roma over the availability of Nicolo Zaniolo.
What’s the story?
Well, despite the fact his contract expires in June 2024, there are doubts that the Italy international will extend his deal, with Liverpool and Tottenham alert to the situation.
It is said that both the Reds and Spurs have enquired about the 22-year-old, while Manchester United have also asked about Zaniolo.
As things stand, Roma rate their No.22 highly, and believe he is worth a sum in the region of €40m – €45m (£33m – £38m).
So far this season, the former Inter Milan wonderkid has scored four goals, while also recording five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
It speaks volumes that José Mourinho – a manager who demands a lot and is often critical of his own players – regularly includes Zaniolo in his starting XI.
Liverpool and Tottenham could have the next Kaka

Interestingly, Zaniolo has been compared to some of the best players in Europe, past and present.
The Italian was likened to Paul Pogba by Roberto Mancini, although Zaniolo’s father made an even bolder comparison.
Zaniolo Senior compared his son to none other than Brazil legend Kaka, which is a very brave thing to do (Goal).

Former Inter Primavera coach Stefano Vecchi added that Zaniolo is like Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, as he’s a “midfielder of quality and energy” – that speaks volumes (Goal).
By all accounts, Zaniolo is a gem who would shine in the Premier League.
Keep an eye on this saga, with Liverpool and Tottenham both fighting to sign the impressive attacking midfielder.
