Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have all made enquiries into ambitious moves for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

That’s according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Barcelona are currently not concerned about Araujo’s contract.

There is always drama at the Camp Nou these days and there is a simmering situation over Araujo’s contract situation.

The centre back signed a new deal last year but Barcelona haven’t been able to actually register it with La Liga as their financial issues go on.

Barcelona don’t think Araujo will be leaving and are confident that this new contract will be ratified soon enough.

However, Araujo is ‘upset’ by the situation and his representatives are exploring their options.

It’s stated that Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have all made contact for Araujo’s signature.

Liverpool would no doubt love to partner Araujo with Virgil van Dijk moving forward.

Newcastle and Tottenham are unlikely to land Araujo but you can hardly blame them for asking the question.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have done the same with Araujo a wanted man.

Barcelona are in no mood to let Araujo leave but clubs are queueing up to try and take advantage of any potential issue.

Ronald Araujo is on his way to becoming a world star

Maybe it’s because Barcelona have lost some star power, maybe it’s because they aren’t a Champions League force anymore, maybe it’s because Spanish football isn’t as prominent on English screens as in years gone by.

Whatever the reason is, Araujo isn’t quite getting the widespread praise he deserves.

The 24-year-old has been an absolute colossus in the Barcelona back line this season and has become one of the top centre backs in the world.

Araujo doesn’t have a huge reputation just yet but if he continues to shine, he will be a household name throughout his career.

Araujo is known for being very physical and incredibly fast, so much so that Barca often play him as a right back.

Known for nullifying Vinicius Junior, Araujo is a wrecking ball at the back.

It’s no wonder Barca boss Xavi has hailed him as ‘extraordinary’ having witness his brilliance this season.

Barcelona simply cannot afford to lose Araujo and whilst we can’t really see Liverpool, Newcastle or Tottenham managing to sign him, there will be fears as long as his contract situation continues.
