Liverpool reportedly lead the race for the Newcastle United winger, but might he pick Tottenham Hotspur?

Liverpool are the “hottest candidate” to sign Newcastle United winger Moussa Sissoko but Tottenham Hotspur could enter the race, according to Foot Mercato.
The France international is one of several big-name Newcastle lads who could leave Tyneside this summer following their relegation to the Championship.

Magpies manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly told the club’s hierarchy that he does not want to see the player sold, according to The Chronicle.
But Foot Mercato has suggested that Liverpool are leading the race for the 26-year-old’s signature, though it claims that Borussia Dortmund are willing to meet his £20 million valuation.

The report goes on to state that Tottenham might well throw their hats in the ring for Sissoko, whose contract at St James’s Park runs out in 2019.
Foot Mercato has also suggested that the Frenchman not only wants a return to the Premier League, but that he is also keen to play in the Champions League which, if true, might suggest that he may favour Spurs.
