Liverpool and Tottenham have suffered a big blow in their hopes of signing Ryan Gravenberch, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid leading the race for the Dutch youngster.

According to Kicker via Fussball News, the European titans are set to battle each other for the Ajax superstar this summer, with Gravenberch looking likely to leave the Amsterdam giants in the transfer window.

It’s not just Bayern and Madrid who are interested in Gravenberch, though. According to Soccer News, Liverpool are keen on the midfielder, whilst CalcioMercato report that Tottenham are also fans of the 19-year-old prospect, who has failed to impress this season.

After a breakout season with Ajax in 2020, Gravenberch’s form has slumped somewhat this campaign, hence Ajax’s openness to allow the teenage prospect to leave this summer, with Bayern and Madrid sniffing a bargain signing.

Forbes report that Ajax will accept $38.5m (£32m) for the teenager, a fee that will entice some of Europe’s biggest clubs such as Bayern and Madrid despite Gravenberch’s poor season.

With Ajax executive Edwin van der Sar comparing Gravenberch to Paul Pogba, the midfielder will not be short of suitors this summer, and although Liverpool and Tottenham could be brilliant destinations for the youngster, Bayern and Madrid are also extremely lucrative options for the teenager.

Gravenberch will likely be one of Europe’s most sought-after players this summer, with the midfielder a talent who could lead a midfield for years to come for many of the best clubs on the continent, and for Liverpool and Tottenham, they should be worried about Bayern and Madrid.

The European giants have the resources and the need for a central midfielder to beat the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham for Gravenberch, who he himself could be tempted by a move to one of the biggest clubs in world football this summer.
