Liverpool and Newcastle United are both taking a real interest in Hajduk Split wonderkid Luka Vuskovic ahead of the summer window.

That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim that a number of Premier League clubs have been scouting Hajduk.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United are understood to have sent scouts to watch Vuskovic last week.

The 16-year-old featured for Hajduk in the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League, beating AC Milan 3-1 in Geneva.

Premier League clubs were flocking to watch him ahead of potentially launching a summer move for the teenager.

It’s added that Manchester City have already made enquiries about signing Vuskovic in a deal worth around £12million.

The report even states that Vuskovic is being compared to former Barcelona and Manchester United defender Carles Puyol.

Who is Liverpool and Newcastle target Luka Vuskovic?

Any Football Manager player will know that Croatia is a hotbed for young prospects.

Vuskovic appears to be the next one off the production line having already shown enormous potential.

Born in Split, Vuskovic has come up through the Hajduk ranks and remarkably has five first-team appearances to his name at 16.

Additionally, centre back Vuskovic is already 6ft 5in tall and his gigantic frame makes him a dominant force at such a young age.

The Croatian media have hailed Vuskovic as ‘unstoppable’ and seemingly think he has a huge future ahead of him.

Liverpool would no doubt love to sign Vuskovic and develop into the heir to Virgil van Dijk moving forward.

Yet with moneybags City and Newcastle keen, Liverpool will face a real battle for Vuskovic’s signature this summer.
