The teenage midfielder has reportedly told his representatives that he wants to play regular first-team football next season, and is aware that a move to Liverpool, City or United will not help him with that.
The Gambia international enjoyed somewhat of a breakthrough season at AS Roma this campaign.
The teenage midfielder made four starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A.
The youngster also played 61 minutes in the Europa League.
Roma will have a new manager in charge, Jose Mourinho, and it is going to be hard for Darboe to get the playing time that he reportedly wants.
Mourinho will be determined to get Roma challenging for the Champions League places.
The Portuguese may not be able to afford to give time and show patience to Darboe.
The midfielder is very young, and it is unlikely that he will go straight into the starting lineup of any top club.
Maybe staying at Roma and working with a world-class manager such as Mourinho would be best for the 19-year-old.
