According to Globo Esporte, Liverpool and Leeds could now be without their Brazilian players after the Brazilian Football Federation took action.
What’s the story?
Well, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) are furious.
Due to international travel bans and red-listed zones, Premier League clubs chose not to release certain players for the current international break.
Brazil were most heavily affected, as Title lost Roberto Firmino – who cost Liverpool £21.3m – Alisson, Fabinho, Raphinha and many more.
Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Thiago Silva also missed out.
Now, the CBF are trying to get FIFA to impose five-day bans on these players once the international break is over.
However, the CBF do not want Everton and Richarlison to be punished, as the Toffees allowed the forward to play at the Olympic Games this summer.
It’s a very bizarre situation, to say the least.
Liverpool and Leeds cannot be punished

In our view, you simply cannot punish clubs for not wanting to put their players at risk – not just the aforementioned players either.
If Liverpool and Leeds released their Brazilian stars, only for them to bring COVID-19 back to England, they’d be risking those who remained in England as well as those who travelled.
It’s simply not worth doing.
So, for the CBF to want them punished for merely making a logical choice from a moral aspect is ridiculous.

If the CBF are, somehow, successful, then Jürgen Klopp will be without Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson for the trip to Leeds on Sunday 12th September.
In terms of Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa wouldn’t be able to use Raphinha.
Keep an eye on this strange situation, as FIFA should be making a decision before the international break is over.
