According to the Sunday World, Liverpool have been alerted to the availability of Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao.
The report states that the Spanish giants are open to the Brazilian spending the remainder of the campaign on loan elsewhere.
Militao is struggling to get game-time under Zinedine Zidane, and has started just one game in La Liga this season.
Interestingly, the Sunday World add that Jurgen Klopp ‘should be backed’ with a defensive signing this month.
If Liverpool can pull this deal off, then it would be exactly what they need.
Two centre-midfield stars in Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were forced to line up at centre-back in Liverpool’s last Premier League outing – a 1-0 defeat to Southampton.

The latter has been playing there for most of the campaign, as Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez were hit by long-term injuries.
So, what type of player is Militao?
Well, firstly, the fact that Real Madrid paid £43.5 million to sign him as a 21-year-old should tell you that he’s got talent.
Additionally, none other than Lionel Messi thinks very highly of the 22-year-old.

In quotes provided by GiveMeSport, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner described Militao as a “phenomenal talent and fierce competitor.”
In our view, he has the potential to be an ideal signing for Klopp.
A short-term loan move, where the German can use him to solve the centre-back crisis and also examine him ahead of a potential summer move, ticks plenty of boxes for the Reds.
