Liverpool are reportedly set to sign Domagoj Vida.

Croatia's Domagoj Vida (R) vies during the World Cup 2018 play-off football match Greece vs Croatia, on November 12, 2017 in Piraeus.

Liverpool have agreed a deal for Croatia defender Domagoj Vida, according to Turkish outlet A Spor.

The Besiktas centre-back will join Liverpool on a two-year deal with the option of a third year, the report claims.

Everton and West Ham United had also been linked but it looks like Jurgen Klopp has won the race for his signature.

A Spor adds that the Reds will pay around £22 million for the 29-year-old, who helped his country to the final of the World Cup earlier this month.

If and when the transfer materialises, Vida might be a big piece of the jigsaw for Klopp, who has addressed virtually all of the Anfield club’s deficiencies this summer.

Loris Karius has been replaced as number one by Brazil goalkeeper Alisson, while Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Naby Keita have also joined.

Klopp could and probably should look to conclude his transfer business by signing a better striker than Danny Ings or Dominic Solanke to rival Roberto Firmino, though the German manager raved about Daniel Sturridge recently and he might wind up staying on Merseyside.
