According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have accepted a seven-figure bid from Basel for winger Liam Millar, and he is expected to leave the club soon.
The Reds may need to offload a few players before bringing some in, and Millar – whilst not landing Liverpool huge cash – could be moved on.
Millar, 21, has only ever played once for Liverpool’s first team after signing from Fulham back in 2016, and looks set to park his Anfield dream following five years with the Reds.
Millar heading for Liverpool exit
It’s claimed that Basel failed with one bid, but a second was accepted by Liverpool on Friday and Millar is now close to agreeing personal terms.
It’s unclear just how much Basel are paying for Millar, but with just a year left on his contract, the seven-figure value surely won’t be much more than £1million.
The report notes that Blackpool were hoping to sign Millar, with boss Neil Critchley seeking a reunion with his former Liverpool Under-23 ace, but it will be a trip to Switzerland and not the seaside for Millar.

Liverpool U-turn on Millar
The Athletic reported last month that Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp has chosen not to sell Millar, preferring to loan him out and potentially sell in the future whilst believing he has real potential.
Steven Gerrard has previously called Millar ‘electric’, but with limited first-team opportunities, Millar seemingly feels it’s time to move on.
A move to Switzerland is now on the cards, and Millar will ultimately hope to kick on and prove Livpool wrong for letting him go.
