Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been linked with Orkun Kokcu, but it seems that the Reds will miss out on the Feyenoord midfielder to Benfica.
Earlier this week, 1908.nl reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Orkun Kokcu from Feyenoord in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that Liverpool were looking into the possibility of bringing in Kokcu after completing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Feyenoord are reportedly aware of interest in Kokcu from Liverpool.
Liverpool about to miss out on Orkun Kokcu signing to Benfica
However, it seems that the 22-year-old Turkey international midfielder is on his way to Benfica instead.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Benfica are on the verge of completing a deal for the youngster.
Romano has claimed that Benfica will pay Feyenoord a transfer fee of €30 million (£26 million), adding that he is in Lisbon now to complete his medical.

Reds should continue to keep tabs on Kokcu
In our view, Liverpool should continue to monitor Orkun Kokcu even at Benfica.
After all, the Turkey international is 22 now, and there is no way that he is going to stay at Benfica for the rest of his career.
Liverpool are a massive club, and perhaps next summer or in two years’ time, they could revisit their interest in the midfielder.
We believe that the Premier League outfit should monitor the development of Kokcu at Portuguese giants Benfica.
