Liverpool take on Leicester City on Wednesday night.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Rafael Camacho is in contention to start for Liverpool against Leicester City on Wednesday night.
The Reds have suffered a host of defensive injuries of late, and right back is one area that has become a major problem for Jurgen Klopp.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are both out injured, whilst James Milner is suspended having been red-card against Crystal Palace last time out and Nathaniel Clyne has been lonaed out to Bournemouth.
That leaves Liverpool with a lack of options at right back, and the Liverpool Echo report that it will be either Fabinho or Camacho starting against Leicester City tomorrow night.
Fabinho may be forced to play at centre back with Dejan Lovren and Gomez out as well as Virgil van Dijk being ill, so Camacho’s chances of playing look pretty good right now.
Camacho, 18, joined Liverpool from Manchester City as a winger in 2016, but has now adapted to become a right back, and started against Wolves in the FA Cup earlier this month.
The Portuguese talent also made a substitute appearance against Palace, and looks to have a bright future at Anfield after switching his role.
Intriguingly though, Camacho almost left Liverpool earlier this month. The Daily Record noted that Sporting wanted to re-sign him almost six years since he left, but Klopp blocked a loan move.
Now, he may be forced to start Camacho at Anfield tomorrow night due to a host of injuries, in a remarkable turnaround for the teenager.
