Newcastle United defender Liam Gibson has only months remaining on his current deal at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle full-back Gibson is wanted by both Accrington Stanley and Bristol Rovers, with the transfer window edging closer to opening.
The youngster is said to be desperate to go out and get first team football, as he has been starved of chances at St. James’ Park.
Gibson is yet to make a senior appearance at Newcastle this term, and a move away could now appeal.
The 21-year-old has only months left on his contract, and Accrington are said to be willing to take him on a long-term basis.

The League One side would also be open to a loan deal, with discussions set to take place between the two clubs in the near future.
Newcastle may well be open to letting Gibson go, as he is now reaching an age where first-team football could be important to his development, and he still seems a long way from Rafael Benitez’s first-team.
