According to the Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic midfielder Liam Burt will leave the club again – and could end up joining an English Championship side.
Burt started his career with Celtic before joining bitter rivals Rangers. Despite being touted for a bright future there, he was released in 2019.
Remarkably, the midfielder ended up re-joining Celtic last summer, but recent reports suggested that he has been released ahead of schedule after no first-team appearances.
Burt the posted a photo at Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground, sparking rumours that he was staying after all. However, this new report claims that Burt really is leaving for a second time.
The report adds that ‘several’ English Championship clubs want to sign Burt, seemingly seeing a real talent in the 21-year-old despite his lack of action at Celtic.

It would be little surprise if QPR were in the race for Burt. Their manager Mark Warburton coached Burt at Rangers, and even gave him his Gers debut back in 2016.
The Scot may not have lived up to his potential so far, but a move to the second tier in England would be a major step for Burt once his Celtic exit is confirmed – and if he goes and impresses elsewhere, who can rule out a third stint at Celtic in the future?
