Tottenham Hotspur want Julian Nagelsmann but Daniel Levy understands securing the German will be very difficult.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Levy is ‘acutely aware’ of the difficult in convincing Nagelsmann after making initial contact.

It’s suggested that Nagelsmann could end up having numerous options this summer.

Real Madrid and Chelsea are both understood to be fans of Nagelsmann and his unexpected availability is of interest.

Carlo Ancelotti and Graham Potter could move on for different reasons this summer and Nagelsmann is on the radar.

Tottenham are waiting to hear if Nagelsmann is interested having made exploratory contact for the German.

No deal will be done until the summer now with Cristian Stellini in charge, but Tottenham seem to think landing Nagelsmann will be tricky.

Tottenham do have hope over Julian Nagelsmann

Tottenham certainly weren’t expecting to see Nagelsmann become available right now.

The 35-year-old has been surprisingly sacked by Bayern Munich and rapidly replaced by Thomas Tuchel.

Performances this season have been patchy for Bayern and Nagelsmann has suddenly paid the price with his job.

Tottenham may have only parted ways with Antonio Conte on Sunday but they will have been on red alert when Nagelsmann became available.

Tottenham wanted Nagelsmann in 2021 so this pursuit is no great surprise – and his stance back then should give Spurs some hope.

The Daily Mail suggested back in April 2021 that Nagelsmann was keen on becoming Spurs boss after impressing at RB Leizipg.

The Mail followed that up by claiming that Nagelsmann was so interested that he was even asking contacts in England about Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy.

Nagelsmann ended up at Bayern but it has been suggested that Nagelsmann has an affinity for Tottenham, giving Spurs genuine hope of a deal.

Levy is left waiting to hear if Nagelsmann is keen but there seems to be a decent chance of a deal here.
