Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has been discussing an attacking midfield signing in the last 48 hours, the Daily Mail report.

Tottenham are expecting a quiet transfer deadline day, according to Jose Mourinho, but the potential for deals to take place is actually not beyond the realms of possibility.

Spurs could still sanction a deal to allow Dele Alli to leave the club, although they want to find a replacement first.

Levy was apparently in discussions with Spurs’ recruitment team in the last two days, as Tottenham now weigh up their options.

Christian Eriksen is thought to be a potential addition, but the Inter Milan playmaker has fought his way back into contention with Antonio Conte’s side recently.

No other names are mentioned in the Mail’s report, but Tottenham are scouring the market for opportunities.

And while it remains most likely that Spurs will not bring any new players in today, there could still be a chance of movement, if the opportunity arises, with Levy seemingly planning ahead.
