Daniel Levy has ‘little to no interest’ in appointing Gareth Southgate as Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager, the Telegraph claim.
Tottenham have been tentatively linked with appointing the England manager, as they search for Jose Mourinho’s replacement.
The London Evening Standard have even gone as far to say as Southgate would be keen on taking the Tottenham job after Euro 2020.
However, Levy apparently has very little interest in appointing the 50-year-old boss.
That may go down well with many Tottenham fans, who have not taken particularly kindly to the rumours that Southgate could be a candidate.
Spurs fans have discussed the potential appointment on social media previously, and it’s fair to say that the reaction hasn’t been very positive.
With Levy facing mounting pressure at Spurs, he knows the need to make a popular and correct choice over their next manager.
And Levy’s stance over Southgate looks like a sensible one, as the backlash could be fierce if Spurs were to appoint him, especially if England fail to impress at the upcoming European Championships.
