Tottenham Hotspur are keen on doing a deal for Marcel Sabitzer but any transfer looks unlikely to happen this month, according to the Athletic.
With RB Leipzig still in the Champions League, the German side are said to be reluctant to let go of one of their major assets in mid-season.
However, Tottenham are now looking into the possibility of landing him in the summer, and that deal apparently looks far more likely to happen at that stage.
The Athletic claim that an offer of under £30 million could be enough to tempt Leipzig into selling, as the central midfielder will have under a year left on his deal.
At that price the transfer looks a relative bargain, as the deal looks to be well below market value.
Sabitzer was valued at £45 million just eight months ago in BILD, so Tottenham would be landing him at a considerable discount.

Sabitzer is blessed with a great attacking skill-set but he, perhaps crucially, also has the willingness to press from the front.
If he does arrive then Dele Alli’s place at Tottenham will look even more uncertain, but he appears to be a player more suited to Jose Mourinho’s style of play.
