Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to have failed with an attempt to sign Aston Villa’s on-loan Chelsea striker in January.

Tammy Abraham remains a £20 million target for Wolverhampton Wanderers, but is also wanted by RB Leipzig ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. The Chelsea striker has excelled while on loan to Aston Villa this season, scoring 21 goals from 29 Championship appearances.
Abraham’s form is said to have attracted the attention of Wolves in January, although The Sun reports he opted to stay at Villa Park instead of switching to Molineux.
And snubbing Wolves for a second time is not beyond the realms of possibility, especially if Leipzig maintain their position with the Bundesliga’s Champions League qualification spots.
Should the 21-year-old move to Germany, he would follow in the footsteps of fellow young Englishmen, Jadon Sancho, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe.

Smith-Rowe is the latest to signed by Leipzig in particular, following the success of Ademola Lookman last season.
Aston Villa’s chances of a permanent deal for Abraham are slim unless they achieve promotion and, even then, Chelsea could opt to keep the Blues academy product after being placed under a two-window transfer embargo.
