Jonny Evans is reportedly set for a £3million switch to Leicester if West Brom are relegated.
Evans will be allowed to leave the Hawthorns for the cut-price fee if the Baggies – who are currently bottom of the Premier League table and five points from safety with two matches to play – drop down into the Championship.
The Foxes have held an interest in the centre-back for some time and as Talksport reports, had a £21m bid for the 30-year-old rejected during the January transfer window as West Brom were holding out for £30m.
Now Leicester could land Evans for a fraction of that price and help bolster an aging defence with captain Wes Morgan now 34 and Robert Huth, who is also out of contract this summer, turning 34 himself in August.
Who else is interested?
Several clubs have been linked with the Northern Ireland international, with his former side Manchester United one of the most prominent in recent times.
According to the Metro the Red Devils are prepared to loan out Victor Lindelof and bring back Evans to Old Trafford three years after selling him.
