According to The Mirror, Leicester City want a huge £60million fee for playmaker James Maddison amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Maddison, 22, only joined Leicester from Norwich City last summer, paying £22.5million to land the attacking midfielder in a superb move (Mirror).

The English ace racked up seven goals and seven assists in his first Premier League season, whilst tallying 100 key passes – the most in the top flight.

Now, it’s believed that Tottenham want Maddison, seemingly eyeing him up as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen given questions over his future.

However, if Tottenham want Maddison, then they’ll have to pay a huge fee, as The Mirror claim that Leicester now want a huge £60million deal – almost three times what they paid a year ago.

That would be a new record for Tottenham, as their deal for Davinson Sanchez in 2017 cost a total of £42million (Guardian), with Mauricio Pochettino’s latest target far eclipsing that.

Spurs are expected to spend money this summer after two transfer windows without a signing, but whether they’re willing to spend that kind of money is another matter, even if Eriksen does go.
