Leicester City are keen to hand Demarai Gray a new contract as the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Liverpool remain interested.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Leicester are planning to discuss a new contract with Demarai Gray as the Foxes try to keep the winger amid the interest from some of their Premier League rivals.

Gray has struggled to hold down a place in the side since arriving at the King Power Stadium, but has still been able to show some glimpses of undeniable quality when he has been given a chance.

The Mirror reports that his potential has caught the attention of the likes of Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool – seemingly prompting Leicester into action.

According to the Mirror, the 21-year-old could receive a significant increase on the £25,000 a week salary that he earns with the Foxes if he was to leave for Spurs or either of the Merseyside clubs, which is something that Leicester are keen to rectify by offering him a new deal with a pay-rise.

It is hardly a surprise that Leicester are keen to do what they can to convince Gray to stay put, with the Mirror reporting that Riyad Mahrez is desperate to move on this summer.

But with Tottenham and Liverpool both contending for the top four last season, while Everton’s transfer business so far this summer suggests that the Toffees will also be in the mix for a Champions League qualification spot, it may not be out of the question to suggest that Leicester’s offer will have to be significant to prevent the wide-man’s head from being turned by the other opportunities on offer.
