Forgotten man Bartosz Kapustka emerged from the shadows to take part in Leicester City’s friendly clash against Aston Villa on Wednesday, according to the Mercury, while there was also a new position for Christian Fuchs.
It’s fair to say the Foxes dropped the ball during that ill-fated summer of 2016.
Leicester went from Premier League champions to relegation candidates in a matter of months, thanks in part due to some truly dreadful mistakes in the transfer market.
While Islam Slimani, Ron-Robert Zieler and Ahmed Musa hardly set the world alight, the biggest disappointment of all was a talented forward who had shone for Poland at Euro 2016 just a few weeks earlier.
Since joining in a £7.5 million deal from Cracovia, Kapustka has managed a grand total of four appearances for the Foxes. The most recent of those was during a 1-0 defeat to Millwall in a 2017 Fa Cup clash.
Now 23 years of age, Kaputska’s Leicester career looks all-but over – though there is a slight chance that he could make a shock return to action before the end of this season.

The Mercury points out that a player who’s pace and dynamism makes him a good fit for Brendan Rodgers’s style featured during a warm-up game against Aston Villa.
Rodgers was obviously keen to shuffle his pack and experiment, with left-back Fuchs starting in the centre of defence.
A first-team debut could be heading Luke Thomas’s way too, with the 19-year-old also getting the nod to appear in midweek.
