Leicester City are fighting to fend off Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Ben Chilwell.

According to the Daily Star, Leicester City are working to get Ben Chilwell tied down to a new contract in order to stop three Premier League clubs from signing him.

The Foxes are making strides under Brendan Rodgers, and they could realistically push for a top four finish this season if they can keep this squad together.

Chilwell has been a key part of the Leicester side for a couple of years now, becoming one of the most dependable left backs in the Premier League as well as an England international.

It’s now believed that Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all want to sign Chilwell, with a real battle forming ahead of the 2020 transfer windows.

However, Leicester are allegedly preparing to hike up his wages to around £100,000-a-week, with a new contract offer imminent despite him still having five year left on his deal anyway.

Leicester seemingly feel that a bit of extra money will convince Chilwell to ignore that interest and stay put at the King Power Stadium, but all three clubs will be pursuing left backs in the near future.

None of the sides have settled left backs; Chelsea have seen both Marcos Alonso and Emerson feature this season, United are losing faith in Luke Shaw and Tottenham still haven’t really got a guaranteed starter, with Danny Rose and Ben Davies sharing the duties.

Leicester allegedly value Chilwell at around £50million, but if they can get that new deal secured, the price tag will likely only rise.
