Leicester City are said to be keeping a very close eye on the young Nigerian.

According to a report from Nieuwsblad, Leicester City are interested in signing Genk midfielder Wilfried Ndidi.

The 19-year-old has already racked up 75 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the process, and that form is said to have attracted the interest of the Foxes among others.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has impressed with his transfers at the King Power Stadium, but with the reigning Premier League champions struggling domestically this season it would be no surprise to see them strengthen in January.

According to Nieuwsblad, it has been suggested that a bid in the region of £15.5million could be enough to tempt Genk into selling a player whose contract runs until the summer of 2020.

Their technical director Dimitri De Conde is quoted as saying, “Suppose there comes a mega bid. It is very difficult to keep them here.”

Ndidi is predominantly a holding midfielder although he can also operate at centre-back if required, and as Leicester continue to struggle to replicate their form from last season, he could be exactly what they need to add more steel in central areas.
