According to Tutto Atalanta, Leicester City are in talks to sign reported Tottenham Hotspur target Timothy Castagne with a summer move on the cards.

The Belgium international’s deal at Atalanta expires in 2021.

Tutto claim Atalanta are keen to extend his deal until 2024, but the player has one eye on a move to the Premier League with both Spurs and Leicester keen.

Castagne told La Derniere Heure last month in his native Belgium that a move to a club like Tottenham can’t be turned down as he was asked of the club’s potential interest.

Leicester, meanwhile, have seemingly stepped up their interest in a new fullback following Ben Chilwell’s move to fellow Premier League side Chelsea this week.

Castagne is predominantly a right-back but can also play on the left.

The Foxes have a big void to fill following Chilwell’s switch to Stamford Bridge.

Leicester, however, aren’t in the strongest position after missing out on Champions League football and Brendan Rodgers has the difficult task of regrouping his side.

Castagne’s versatility should appeal to Tottenham who must look at their fullback options.

With finances tight, Castagne represents a fine opportunity as Atalanta know they won’t be able to command a high fee with the player’s contract expiring next year.

The 24-year-old played 33 games in all competitions for Atalanta this past season. He posted two goals and two assists as the side reached the Champions league quarter final.
