Leicester City are in talks over a potential £40 million deal for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to Calciomercato.
While Brendan Rodgers has made it painfully clear that Ben Chilwell is not for sale this summer, speculation suggests that, behind the scenes at least, Leicester are planning for life without their much-coveted England international.
It is no secret that Chelsea have identified Chilwell as the man to solve a problematic left-back spot at Stamford Bridge.
And, if reports are to be believed, Leicester are already in discussions over a deal that would see Argentina international Tagliafico arrive at the King Power as his readymade replacement.
The 2019 Eredivisie winner has just one year left on his contract at Ajax and it seems for all the world that he has played his last game in that iconic red and white kit.

“With Nico, he has reached the age that I understand that he wants to take the next step,” director Marc Overmars told the Ajax YouTube page of the 27-year-old flyer back in June.
The attack-minded Rodgers views full-backs more as attackers than defenders and Tagliafico, who contributed 12 goals and assists during a stellar 2019/20 campaign, is a man who suits the Leicester boss down to the ground.
