Vicente Iborra has struggled for minutes at Leicester City and is reportedly keen on a return to hometown club Levante.
Vicente Iborra has not exactly been a roaring success at Leicester City.
Following his move from Sevilla in July last year, the Spaniard was unlucky to pick up a hamstring injury which ruled him out of the first four Premier League games of the season.
Iborra eventually succeeded in claiming a first-team spot for a period of time but on the whole his tenure at Leicester has been very stop-start, with just 32 appearances under his belt.
According to Spanish outlet Super Deporte, the 30-year-old is pining for a return to Levante, his hometown club, and would like to do so before entering the twilight of his career.
In addition, Iborra is reportedly worried about what Brexit may mean for footballers from European Union countries who are plying their trade in English football.
An article in The Times from 13 November suggested that the Football Association is putting forward proposals to reduce the number of overseas players in each 25-man squad to 12.
With Leicester currently boasting 13 overseas players in their ranks, Super Deporte speculates that Iborra may be willing to make way and fulfil his ambition of returning to Levante in the process.
However, the report also mentions that Levante are in no rush to move for their former player, given his Leicester contract runs until 2021, and may wait until closer to its expiration.
In addition, it adds that the Foxes are not thinking of transfer business at present following last month’s tragic helicopter crash which claimed five lives including that of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
