According to The Scottish Sun, Leicester City are preparing a £6million move for Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers – but could appoint Neil Lennon as interim boss first.

The Foxes were trounced by Crystal Palace in a 4-1 home defeat on Saturday evening, which ultimately brought an end to Claude Puel’s stint as boss.

Puel was sacked on Sunday morning, not even making it 24 hours after the final whistle of Saturday’s defeat, and the search will now start for his replacement.

The Scottish Sun report that Leicester are hugely keen to bring in Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, making him their top target to replace Puel.

It’s believed Rodgers would cost around £6million to prise away from Celtic, but a move would only materialise at the end of the season as the Northern Irishman is bidding to win the league title with Celtic.

In the meantime, Leicester would look for an interim boss, with the report stating that Neil Lennon – a former Celtic manager himself – is a candidate for that role.

Lennon, who recently left his post as Hibernian boss, made almost 200 appearances for Leicester as a player before leaving the club to join Celtic in 2000, and he became Bhoys boss 10 years later.

The 47-year-old could take the reins until the end of the season, with Rodgers then replacing a former Celtic boss in a strange twist, though the Bhoys would surely put up a huge fight to keep Rodgers at Parkhead.
