According to the Telegraph, Leicester are considering a £14m bid for Ademola Lookman, who was sold by Premier League rivals Everton in 2019.
What’s the story?
Well, the £52,000-a-week man has spent the campaign on loan at Leicester from RB Leipzig, and has impressed under Brendan Rodgers.
Lookman has scored eight goals in 40 appearances so far this season, while also providing five assists for the Foxes.
Now, Leicester are hoping to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis, as Rodgers targets six new arrivals at the King Power Stadium.
When speaking about Lookman, the Leicester boss said: “He is a young player I really like and he has done really well in his time here. We will discuss that over the coming weeks and if it’s possible I’d love to be able to do something because I think there is still growth in him.”
Lookman has two years remaining on his contract with RB Leipzig, and the German side are believed to be demanding £14m, according to the Telegraph.

As aforesaid – and as mentioned by the Telegraph – Leicester are planning to bid £14m, so in that respect, both sides should find an agreement.
It comes after Crystal Palace tried to sign Lookman in 2021, while Newcastle also expressed an interest in the forward.
Leicester could embarrass Everton
In our view, it wouldn’t be a great look for Everton if Lookman returned to the Premier League on a permanent basis, and maintained his impressive form.
It was Marco Silva who sold the Nigeria international to RB Leipzig in 2019, after never really giving the Londoner a chance to shine on Merseyside.

Now, if he becomes a Premier League regular for a side as good as Leicester, questions will surely be asked at Goodison Park as to why he was allowed to leave.
At the very least, Everton should’ve negotiated some form of first refusal on Lookman, which would give them a chance to hijack Leicester’s £14m pursuit.
At the age of 24, there is still much more to come from Lookman, although it seems Leicester will now benefit from his development instead of Everton.
