Leicester City are said to have made several bids for the Sheffield Wednesday stirker.

Leicester City will return for Sheffield Wednesday striker George Hirst in January, the Mirror reports on page 60 of Thursday’s printed edition.
The 2015-16 Premier League champions are said to have had several offers, the last worth a reported £2 million, turned down by the Owls during the summer transfer window.

But it would appear they have not been deterred by Wednesday’s stance over the 18-year-old, who scored a hat-trick for England’s Under-19s last week.
Hirst, who is also said to have had interest from Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, is out of contract at Hillsborough at the end of the campaign, and the Owls had hoped to tie him to a new deal before loaning him out to a lower league club.

Terms are yet to be agreed, however, and failure to resolve the issue by January would leave Wednesday at risk of losing the Sheffield-born talent for less than his true value.
If Leicester cannot tempt Wednesday into selling, they would only have to wait until the summer to approach him without the Owls’ blessing – unless a new contract is agreed by then.
For how long can Sheffield Wednesday continue to resist Leicester City’s advances?
