Reports from France claim that Riyad Mahrez may finally get his move away from Leicester City this month.
Leicester City will allow Riyad Mahrez to leave in the January transfer window if they receive a substantial offer, according to France Football.
As BBC Sport reports, the Algerian international winger asked to leave the King Power Stadium in the summer but no team met Leicester’s asking price.
Italian giants Roma were his top suitor back then, making three bids which were all rejected, the last of which was worth £32m, claims The Metro.
With Mahrez returning to his best form under new manager Claude Puel – he has five goals in his last 10 Premier League games to contribute to a tally of seven goals and seven assists for the season – the Foxes are likely to want even more money to sell this month.
But France Football does understand that Leicester have agreed with Mahrez to let him go for the right price.
Spurs could do with more pace and unpredictability in their attack, but Arsenal’s need could be greater as they face losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for free at the end of the season.
Leicester, having climbed to eighth in the table with an eye on Europe, would be disappointed to lose Mahrez but could not begrudge their 2015-16 title hero a move to a top-six club.
