Islam Slimani can’t stop scoring in Ligue 1 for Monaco but Premier League high-flyers Leicester have already given the French team an option to buy.

Leicester City could sell Islam Slimani for just £7.8 million in the New Year despite the record signing’s outstanding start to life on loan at Monaco, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Foxes were still the reigning Premier League champions when Slimani moved to the King Power Stadium from Sporting Lisbon in 2016 for a club record £29 million. But like Ahmed Musa, Bartosz Kapustka and Ron-Robert Zieler, the Algerian target man failed to live up to expectations as Leicester rapidly slipped down the table.
Slimani managed just 13 goals in 47 games for the Midlands outfit but, since joining the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Gelson Martins and Wissam Ben Yedder at Monaco, the 2014 World Cup star has produced some of the finest performances of his entire career.

In just seven Ligue 1 games, Slimani has contributed to 11 goals (5 goals, six assists) with Leonardo Jardim’s side recovering from a dismal start to fight their way out of the relegation zone.
Unfortunately for Leicester, they are unlikely to benefit from Slimani’s sudden rebirth as they have already offered Monaco the chance to sign him permanently for £7.8 million – around £21 million less than The Foxes paid for him just three years ago.
