According to the Daily Mail, the Foxes have rekindled their interest in signing Baggies ace Jonny Evans, as Claude Puel looks to bolster his defensive ranks at the King Power Stadium.

The 30-year-old centre-back looks set to leave the Hawthorns this summer, with Manchester City and Arsenal thought to be leading the race to sign him, according to the Daily Mail.

Leicester currently have plenty of options in the central defensive department, although an injection of youth is much needed, with Wes Morgan and Robert Huth both on the wrong side of 33.

They do have Harry Maguire, of course, but he himself has been linked with an exit from the east Midlands outfit, with the Sun claiming that Manchester City are weighing up a £50 million offer for the 24-year-old.

The Daily Mail claim that the Foxes are looking to strengthen their defensive options, and see Evans as an ideal addition to their squad, although the Northern Ireland international reportedly favours a move to the Etihad.

The offer of regular first team football at the King Power Stadium could tip the scales in Leicester’s favour, however.
