Leicester City are monitoring Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ferrari is coming off a dramatic season at Serie A side Crotone, where he has been on loan for the past 12 months.

Crotone had been destined for relegation before an unlikely run of results saw them battle back to clinch survival.

Ferrari played in 37 league games for Crotone and his performances have attracted attention.

Di Marzio reports Torino are considering making a transfer offer, with Leicester City also paying close attention to his situation.

Leicester last week splashed out to sign Hull centre-back Harry Maguire, and so Ferrari may struggle to make his way into the starting line-up if he did sign.

The Italian is 25-years-old and is currently under contract at Sassuolo until 2021.

Leicester finished in 12th place last season, missing out on a top 10 finish by just one point, 12 months on from dramatically winning the Premier League title.
