The Moroccan international only joined Benfica a year ago.

Leicester City have been crowned Premier League champions after a sensational season for The Foxes under Claudio Ranieri.

Now the club need to build for next season – where they will hope to not suffer a significant dip in form and league position.

With the added challenge of playing Champions League football it would seem that Leicester will need to add to their current crop of players.

One player now being linked with a move to the King Power is Benfica talent Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez.

The Moroccan international, who has also been capped twice by Belgium, joined Benfica last summer from Standard Liege. He has also previously played for Anzhi Makhachkala – when the Russian side were throwing rubles at the squad.

He has struggled for regular first-team football in Portugal and the report, from A Bola, claims that Leicester and PSV Eindhoven are interested in the player – valued at around €8 million (£6.3 million).

Carcela-Gonzalez can play on either wing and with his pace and dribbling ability is a lot like current Leicester star Riyad Mahrez.

He has featured 29 times for Benfica this season, scoring twice.
