Leicester City may be backing away from Youri Tielemans.

According to The Telegraph, Leicester City appear to be cooling their interest in signing midfielder Youri Tielemans permanently due to the £40million needed to land him.
The Foxes took Tielemans on loan from Monaco in January, sending Adrien Silva to the Ligue 1 side in exchange – and Leicester certainly reaped the rewards of that deal.
Tielemans hit three goals and four assists in just 13 Premier League games for Leicester, becoming an almost immediate hit at the King Power Stadium before his loan ended.
The Belgian will be back with Monaco, but Leicester fans are desperate to see him stay permanently. Sadly, The Telegraph now claim that Leicester’s interest in Tielemans appears to be cooling.
The £40million fee Monaco are demanding may be beyond Leicester’s reach for just one player, and Brendan Rodgers may instead look to spend that kind of money across his team, bolstering a number of positions rather than just one.
However, this may mean that Tielemans falls into the lap of Tottenham or even Manchester United, with Sky Sports recently claiming that both clubs are interested in signing the 22-year-old this summer.

There is still a chance that Leicester can land Tielemans permanently, but these reports may just be hints that Leicester already know that a deal isn’t going to happen, and ideas of spending the money on a number of players will cushion the blow.
For Spurs and United, this may be the perfect opening to move for Tielemans, who would be an ideal purchase for either side based on his performances for Leicester this year.
