According to reports from the Daily Mail, Leicester City have enquired about Augsburg defender Daniel Opare.

The 27-year-old has been excellent in the Bundesliga this term, and is available for around £3 million as he is out of contract with the German club at the end of the season.

The Ghana international, who has 18 caps already, can play in both full-back positions.

The Foxes have been pursuing Andre Almeida but the Benfica defender would cost around £9 million. Opare may not be a headline grabbing signing, but given his quality and price tag, it seems a non-brainer to move for him.

However, Leicester are not the only club interested in signing Opare. The Daily Mail reported last month West Ham are one of the clubs interested in the Ghana international.

Also, according to reports from the Sunday People (printed edition; 31/12/2017 – page 53) Stoke City are preparing an offer for the full-back in the January transfer window.

West Ham already have Pablo Zabaleta and Sam Byram for the right full-back role, and it remains to be seen whether the Hammers make a move for him in January.

Leicester City are eighth in the Premier League table with 30 points from 22 games.
