The Bologna winger is reportedly attracting attention from Leicester City and Watford.

Italy's midfielder Simone Verdi looks on during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification football match between Italy and Macedonia on October 6, 2017 at the Grande Torino Stadium in Turin.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Corriere Di Bologna, Premier League duo Watford and Leicester are lining up a summer swoop for Bologna hitman Simone Verdi.

The 25-year-old, who has two international caps for Italy under his belt, has enjoyed a fine campaign in Serie A this season, chalking up seven goals and seven assists in 25 appearances for Bologna thus far.

Simone Verdi of Empoli celebrates after scring the opening goal during the Serie A match between SSC Napoli and Empoli FC at Stadio San Paolo on December 7, 2014 in Naples, Italy.

Corriere Di Bologna claim that the Foxes and the Hornets are keen on signing the Italian this summer, having been impressed with his performances in Serie A this term.

Verdi is a right winger by trade, but can operate anywhere along the front-line. He possesses pace in abundance, and plays with a certain type of directness that would surely make him a hit in England.

Lazio's midfieleder from Brazil, Lucas Leiva (L) vies with Bologna's forward Simone Verdi during the Italian Serie A football match Lazio vs Bologna at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on March...

The forward is still under contract with Bologna until the summer of 2021, and is valued at £17.6 million, according to Transfer Markt.

That would represent decent value in today’s day and age, and if either Leicester or Watford do in fact manage to bring him to the Premier League in the summer, he could turn out to be a real coup for whichever club wins the race for his signature.
