Leicester City are interested in signing Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Leicester scout Sean St Ledger attended the Europa League game between Celtic and Lazio at Celtic Park on Thursday evening.

The report has also claimed that Crystal Palace watched the 21-year-old central defender on Thursday.

Promising talent

Ajer is a very good and promising young central defender who has established himself as an important player for Celtic.

The Norway international, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, has progressed well for the Hoops since his move to Celtic Park in 2016, and there is no surprise that Premier League duo Leicester and Palace are reportedly interested in the 21-year-old.

Leicester boss Rodgers worked with Ajer when he was the manager of Celtic, and described the Norwegian as a “natural leader” in July 2018, as quoted in The Daily Record.

However, with Celtic aiming to win the domestic treble again this season, it is hard to see manager Neil Lennon sell the Norwegian in the January transfer window.
