Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City have both sent scouts to Italy to make checks on Sampdoria’s Serie A flyer Mikel Damsgaard, as reported by FC Inter News.
Claudio Ranieri’s Disney-dream Foxes career might have ended with a dose of harsh reality – sacked just months after that famous Premier League title triumph – but the affable Italian remains something of a God-like figure among Leicester supporters.
So, as the Midland giants look to lure one of Scandinavia’s biggest talents to England, we would imagine that the King Power fanbase will be keen to hear what Ranieri has to say about his Sampdoria starlet.
“In my view, Damsgaard is an enfant prodige,” Ranieri said, via SosFanta, in February.
After bursting onto the scene in 2021, producing four assists during his debut Serie A season, it seems unlikely that Damsgaard will be working alongside Ranieri for much longer.

FC Inter News reports that both Spurs and Leicester have watched the jet-heeled 20-year-old in the flesh, sending their scouts to Liguria.
Inter Milan and Juventus are also keen, though Sampdoria have not given up hope of keeping the £16 million-rated Damsgaard, who has earned the affection of fellow Dane Christian Eriksen, for another season.
Fortunately, one of the fastest forwards in Italian football appears to be on the same page.
“Staying at Sampdoria? Of course, why not!,” Damsgaard said a few weeks ago, via FC Inter News.
