According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City and Southampton are both in the market for Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg.

It’s claimed that the Premier League duo are both interested in signing Svanberg right now, plotting a January move for the Swede.

However, AC Milan are interested in signing Svanberg, and are lining him up for a summer move thanks to positive relations between them and Bologna.

Bologna aren’t keen to sell right now, which may favour Milan, and a meeting was held with Svanberg’s agent on Monday to figure out the next move.

Svanberg, 22, has picked up two goals and one assist in 15 Serie A games this season, and has shown impressive versatility.

He can play centrally or in front of the back four, whilst he has even operated on the right flank, which should appeal to Brendan Rodgers and Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Svanberg also has four caps and one goal for Sweden, with a bigger role for his country expected over the coming years.

As a Malmo boy, Svanberg may be attracted by the idea of playing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro – which would be hard for Leicester and Southampton to beat.
