The Swedish striker is allegedly attracting interest from Leicester City and Liverpool as he continues to impress in his homeland.

According to a report from Spanish newspaper Sport, Liverpool and Leicester City are both keeping a very close eye on 17-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak.

The teenager currently plays for AIK Solna, for whom he has scored nine goals in 23 matches to date.

That is a fine record for such a young player and it is no surprise given his nationality that he is being talked of as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Sport report mentions that comparison, along with the suggestion that Liverpool and Leicester are far from the only clubs interested in the young forward.

European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all said to be fighting for the player’s services, and it will be interesting to see how this one ultimately plays out.

Leicester have impressed with their recent transfer business and their manager Claudio Ranieri is always on the lookout for exciting new talent, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has formed a brilliant attacking unit that could benefit from an out-and-out striker given the continued injury problems of Daniel Sturridge.

Nothing can happen until at least January, but with Isak’s current contract expiring in the summer of 2018 he could be set for a considerably bigger stage sooner rather than later.
