Leeds United striker Rafa Mujica is a January target for three lower league Spanish clubs as he faces an early departure from Real Oviedo, as reported by El Desmarque.
Oviedo coach Jose Angel Ziganda might have admitted last week that he was desperate to keep hold of the 21-year-old after his two-goal heroics in the Copa del Rey, but it seems the former Athletic Bilbao boss may be left disappointed.
Mujica has played in just four of a potential 19 Segunda matches this season.
And, despite his midweek brace in the cup, the one-time Barcelona youngster was handed just 16 minutes off the bench as Real Oviedo defeated Ponferradina last time out.
As a result, it seems inevitable that Mujica will be bidding farewell to the Asturias-based outfit next month, regardless of what Ziganda says.
El Desmarque reports that third-tier Marbella FC are interested, although it remains to be seen whether Leeds would be willing to let the highly-rated striker move another rung down the Spanish football ladder.
According to The New Spain, Marbella’s Segunda B rivals Nastic and Hercules are also keen.
If Mujica wanted to force his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans at Elland Road, his inability to make an impact at a Spanish second division club doesn’t bode well.
