Leeds United may be willing to blow Sevilla out the water in their attempts to bring Huesca left-back Javi Galan to the Premier League, Radio Huesca reports.
Free-scoring Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Rafa Mir isn’t the only Huesca player to catch the eye during the club’s one and only season back in La Liga.
Despite their campaign ending in heartbreak – relegated on the final day – the late-blooming Galan earned plenty of admirers for the way he acquitted himself during a first campaign in the top flight of Spanish football.
And with Leeds’ pursuit of a left-back hitting more hurdles than a Shetland pony at the Grand National, director Victor Orta appears to have turned his focus on a man nicknamed ‘Rooney’ because of an apparent resemblance to the Manchester United legend.
Leeds – Galan in their sights
Radio Huesca points out Galan has a £3.5 million release clause in his contract, one 2020 Europa League winners Sevilla are ready to pay in full.

Leeds, however, would be willing to go above and beyond that figure, offering Huesca more than the amount stipulated in Galan’s contract to secure the services of a man renowned not only for his fine crossing ability but also his belligerent, one-on-one defending.
Galan would be expected to replace Gjanni Alioski at Elland Road, with the fans’ favourite out of contract next month.
